Terms of use

Synapse is run by Elva. Using it means accepting what is written here. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.

What the service does

You send a question. We send that question to several third-party AI models, show you what each one said, let them object to each other, and then write a single answer from what survived. Which models are in the room is listed on the front page and can change.

Answers are not advice

Every answer is generated by AI and can be confidently wrong. Several models agreeing is evidence, not proof: they are trained on overlapping data and can be wrong in the same direction. Nothing Synapse produces is legal, medical, financial or professional advice, and you are responsible for checking anything you act on.

Your account

What you may not do

We can suspend an account that is doing any of the above, and we do not owe a refund for the part of a paid month lost that way.

Paying

Free allowances are listed on the pricing page and can change. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Whop, who process the payment and act as merchant of record for it. That means Whop is the party on your card statement and the party that handles the tax on the sale; the card details go to them and never to us. Cancel whenever you like from your account page. We do not refund part months, but if something went wrong at our end, write to us and we will sort it out.

Prices are shown in your local currency where we support one. The currency you see is guessed from your connection and can be changed.

Who owns what

Your questions stay yours. The answers are yours to use, including commercially, as far as we are able to grant that: model output is not something anyone can promise full ownership of, and the underlying providers have their own terms. The site itself, the name and the software remain ours.

What we use your questions for

We keep your questions and the answers so you can find them again, and we may use them to improve our own model. The privacy notice sets out what that means and how to ask us to stop.

Availability

Synapse depends on third-party model providers. When one of them is down or slow, Synapse is too. We do not promise uptime, and we may change or withdraw features.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything you lose by relying on an answer, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, because it cannot.

Changes, and the law that applies

We can change these terms. If a change matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
